How Agile Competent Am I?

OK. I slept on it and answered my question from my rambling muse last night. Don't bother the customer with your agility. As a matter of fact, going forward, I will avoid the use of the very word because it is so overloaded and only causes confusion.

Here's where I'm going with this. The check list I wrote about last night is what I should be doing as a high paid professional serving the needs of my organization, customers and my team. These things aren't optional, and doing them doesn't make me agile, okay? Customers have a job to do. I have a job to do, and sometimes our jobs will cross paths and require collaboration and interdependance. I know this, you know this.

As professionals, we take a leadership role and make it happen, no matter what IT is (OK, that was cheesy, I know). The “it“, though is going to often be big and unmanageable, so how do we break “it“ down into smaller pieces of stuff and deliver value over time while managing change? That is the essence of that, um, that “A“ word.
